Rev. Jane E. Vennard

is a popular teacher on prayer and spiritual practice.  She is the author of seven books on prayer and spirituality, the latest of which is Fully Awake and Truly Alive which offers introductions to nine spiritual practices along with guidance about developing your own spiritual habits.  A long time active member of Spiritual Directors International she teaches and leads retreats in international ecumenical settings.

Jane served for many years as the Louise Iliff Warren Senior Adjunct Faculty in spiritual formation at Iliff School of Theology in Denver. She teaches regularly in the Garrett-Evangelical Doctor of Ministry program.  Her other books include: The Way of Prayer: Companions in Christ Series (Upper Room Books, 2007); A Praying Congregation: The Art of Teaching Spiritual Practice (The Alban Institute, 2005); Embracing the World: Praying for Justice and Peace (Jossey-Bass, 2003); Be Still: Designing and Leading Contemplative Retreats (The Alban Institute, 2000); Praying With Body and Soul: A Way to Intimacy With God (Minneapolis: Augsburg Fortress Books, 1998); Praying for Friends and Enemies: Intercessory Prayer (Augsburg Fortress Books, 1995).
